You may already have supported Penn Treaty Park with your interest, your time, and your efforts. Now we are asking you to support the Park by becoming a member of the Friends of Penn Treaty Park.
The Friends group was created last year year as a community organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beauty and usefulness of historic Penn Treaty Park. Member dues were soon inaugurated to help seed our efforts to grow the organization and its ability to support the Park.
First-year accomplishments include:
- monthly cleanups,
- parking lot gates which are closed after 6pm,
- new playground equipment,
- better cooperation with the police & community groups,
- our first annual Champagne in the Park fundraiser
- and the promise of grant money for other improvements.
2007 marks the 325th anniversary of William Penn's legendary signing of the treaty with Lenape Indians. This promises to another good year to enjoy and support the Park as we plan a series of events to celebrate this historic event culminating in a re-enactment of the treaty-signing in the Park. Stay tuned for details.
Your payment of $20 annual dues will help support our work in the park, and it will entitle you to the status as a full Friend of the Park with the right to vote for board members and officers at the annual meeting in December. Over time, we expect to add other levels of Member contributions with additional benefits.
If you choose not to make a contribution now, you may receive communications about the progress of the organization, cleanups in the Park, special events, and so on.
In the meantime, on behalf of the Board of the Friends of Penn Treaty Park, I thank you for your past support, and I encourage you to support the organization financially as we work to make the Friends even more effective in supporting our Park.
Please fill out the member application below --- you may make your check for $20 payable to "Friends of Penn Treaty Park" and mail it to:
